"I'm so happy ... Let me cry"
Lars Noren Frank, 38, and Katarina, 36 years, love each other and can no longer bear. "Or I'll kill you or you kill me, or they separate or we continue like this. Choose! "As emotional seismographs, their bodies trembling as they s'effleurent, face the wall and furniture, ready to give rise to violence or the desire, sometimes both. That evening, when Frank finally returns, Katarina takes a shower. By reaching out to grab her robe, she dropped a glass, then the shelf under the mirror. The bathroom is soon littered with sharp splinters. Three years earlier, she had already broken the glass above the crisper in the fridge. Frank, who gives the old story about the rug out "may be forgotten but not forgiven." In a plastic bag that was placed in the entrance, an urn containing the ashes of his mother ... How hold this evening is just beginning?
By inviting downstairs neighbors - Jenna, who at the age of Katarina, and Tomas, who is a year younger than Frank - into bystanders, accomplices, victims or consenting horrified, a settling of accounts endless, hopeless, ever more incoherent and humor always darker as the alcohol permeates the minds ... Jenna, the mother if she leaves the conservative phone off the hook with his son sleeping a few floors down can not even suspecting - any more than the audience - to what extremes this derives from a night goes every lead: As the panic cruel games of seduction while a State of consciousness and unconsciousness merge to complete, we feel that dementia starts to appear under the intoxication, but it reveals, perhaps, beyond all transgressions, an astounding sincerity. With this new camera Nordic worthy successor to John Gabriel Borkman he was applauded at the Odeon in April 2009, Thomas Ostermeier continues its relentless exploration of the malaise of the couple. The action, located in a "city apartment" scrupulously returned by the artistic director of the Schaubühne takes place in the early 80s. Ostermeier gave a few contemporary touches on the basis of the modern game, very "Berlin" and its performers. A remarkable quartet of actors, acclaimed by the German press is divided in this striking poster set massacre vaudeville, a sort of remake of extreme Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
(some winks are too explicit to leave room for doubt) the country of Strindberg and Bergman, composed by Lars Norén in 1983.

"When I started looking at Lulu I said to myself, basically what is fascinating about this "madness" theater is that the character of Lulu embodies each man a different identity, a different picture. I saw how most men fantasies projected on her on her body. But every time I started to think on how to stage the play "monster" Wedekind, I stumbled on the same questions: Who is Lulu? What should it look like? Who can be a woman upon whom all men project? My idea somewhat abstract encountered the idea of a concrete complexion. " Stéphane Braunschweig

*****

"
I have to give life to my dreams if I they do not want to make me a sadistic criminal! "
In a world where eroticism seems to have become law, no man can resist Lulu, even if death is the end of the enjoyment. In 1892, Wedekind undertook this "drama for playing" too outrageous to be played ... but took the stage almost immediately. Lulu does not let her go and its author: Wedekind's reworked for twenty years, as if time itself gave birth to him through this legendary heroine. More than a sum, the work is the crucible of a huge bubbling impulsive and dramatic, violently contrasting colors: a promise of happiness, eros enchanting ends up turning to trash
... Crossing fantastic, submerged fantasy, history Lulu leaves gradually deaf hear overtones of pain and anguish. But the accent was so grotesque that Wedekind resonate until last gasp of the tragic story ... These are incredible theatrical spasms, the vitality of this writing, his fighting strength which Stephane Braunschweig wants to feed his staging of "monster tragedy".
