The Cherry Orchard, Anton Chekhov

The Cherry Orchard, Anton Chekhov

: Wednesday, September 29 - 20 pm - Odeon Theatre

Villa Chekhov in Yalta, bought an 1899, now a museum devoted to the writer.

Chekhov's dacha at Melikhovo (museum) The Cherry Orchard is not only the history of selling a home, the sale of a vast and beautiful property, a garden and a nursery.
What happens during a final departure from the memory of the occupants? How to reconcile the past and present of our lives. Should we forgetting to move forward? How have the strength to leave?

Villa where Chekhov wrote Three Sisters 1900

The Cherry Orchard, Anton Chekhov : Wednesday, September 29 - 20 am - Odeon Theatre

A staging Julie Brochen, Director of the National Theater of Strasbourg since 2008

Statement from Julie Brochen:

(December 2009)

"Return, then the departure of Lyubov experienced as absolute and final, I refer in Act III, the question of the Jewish presence in the orchestra. Indeed it is not, as in Uncle Vanya, the only selling a house, a magnificent property.
IT works for me most of an inheritance, the more bulky. What happens to this memory alive : houses, business families deported, what about the paintings of Charlotte Salomon assigned just before his departure to Auschwitz, how to inherit and sell a cemetery? To experience this, can we forget? Kertész says that the notion of humanity was also burned for him in the camps, how can we live without it now? "
" The second story comes from Françoise Balibar's thesis on Einstein. This is a childhood memory recounted by the older sister of Einstein: he was five, she was a little older, both attending an entire afternoon the felling of the homestead. The little boy cries in silence, glued to the glass. The fact that I remember is that this great sister was still connected to this specific memory research on atomic fission bomb and of his brother. All this establishes the need for me today to set up Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard with the new permanent artistic TNS. "

Note d’intention de Julie Brochen :

(décembre 2009)
«Il souffle un vent terrible. Ce n’est qu’un petit trou dans ma poitrine, mais il y souffle un vent terrible…
À l’heure où les idées comme des boucs, sont dressées les unes contre les autres, à l’heure où le
world is all flag, I want to offer you a journey into inner space. At the center of being stands a field that contains all the others ... Behind the crust of things and beings is the unspeakable mystery. He was dreaming, then he woke up laughing was too serious. "

characters between two chairs, which usually expect something (tea, face loved the end of day or night, the time from constantly deferred, mail ...) I'm coming into

"Chekhov"
with Alexander and Anastasia Kaliaguine Vertinskaya. In France, against a director, actor and part of the void is filled gradually, they asked us to leave full, loaded, playing before going on stage. They told us
"Do not do drama, leave the scene if you need to do something."
They told us
"Do not show that you are suffering, but show that you want get rid of your pain. " They told us
" Do not cry, but hold back the tears. "
One day I was playing Nina in The Seagull
and I felt lost, Kaliaguine said: "in France you make sales, that is how you should play: everything is fine, you must sell at a discount, it was after that beauty is ". If I had been told not to play so romantic, I could not understand, but they spoke the wind that hurts the small town of Eletz where Nina will play and where the actors prefer Soviet cancel contracts rather than s' production there. They spoke well and was bright.

To this were added two important stories: the first is the exhibition of the work of Charlotte Salomon
